SINCE 1947
S.V. Dakota is one of Aruba's historic football clubs. For nearly eighty years the hornets have brought families, players and supporters together under one badge: one team, one family.

PRESIDENT, SV DAKOTA
Gilmar Croes
SINCE 15 JULY 1947
Since 15 July 1947, SV Dakota has been far more than a football club. It has been the heartbeat of our neighbourhood, a place where generations of families have gathered, cheered, celebrated and dreamed together in yellow and black. As we approach our 80th anniversary in 2027, I am deeply honoured to lead a club with such a proud history and such a bright future.
Our story is one of hard work, loyalty and passion. Through the decades, The Bees have won the Aruban Division di Honor 17 times, from our first title in 1961, through the great years of the 1960s, 70s and 80s, to our more recent titles in 2017–18 and 2021–22. We have also lifted the Copa Juliana six times, and in 1983 we proudly carried Aruba’s name onto the international stage in the CONCACAF Champions’ Cup. Every trophy belongs not only to the players who lifted it, but to the coaches, volunteers, supporters and families who stood behind them.
As president, my responsibility is to guide our first team and every one of our leagues with one clear principle: sportsmanship comes first. We will always compete to win, but we will do it the right way, with respect for our opponents, for the referees and for the game itself. A healthy club builds strong players, and above all strong people.
Our mission is simple: to make Dakota and the whole island of Aruba proud of their team. Every time our players step onto the pitch, they carry the name of our neighbourhood and the flag of our island with them. We want to show the world that Aruban football has reached a fantastic level of quality, and that great talent can grow on a small island with a big heart.
To our players, supporters, sponsors and our entire community: thank you. The next eighty years start today, and I invite you to write them with us.
Dakota tur dia!
